This is the official release of the "Freeze" performance filmed live at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles, January 18, 2000.
DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist are on the road with their second collaborative 45-mix session in two years called "Product Placement". At the same time, they are releasing the much-anticipated video of Freeze, the non-stop live mix of strictly 45's and exercise in vinyl destruction. The video features the entire performances of DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist and includes highlights from Marvski, Dante, Z-Trip and Nu-Mark.
There are plenty additional goodies like home video of rehearsals at Shadow's pad and scenes from the Future Primitive 45 session in San Francisco that started it all. And of course there are the free Icees and video games that truly captured the spirit of the evening. With only 2500 copies of the original CD ever printed, the Freeze video gives folks a rare opportunity to possess a live version of the original mix and to relive one of the most infamous evenings of 45 demise ever recorded.
