CROOKED marks and unprecedented guerilla campaign of epic proportions. Spinning a tale out of our own experiences and using real people (essentially playing themselves) in actual locations to bring it all back to 3-D, the film blurs the lines between reality and fiction. The documentary feel of digital video coupled with intricate sound design and evocative beatscapes gives you a voyeuristic vision into our world - a world of illusion, but also one of endless possibilities.
Like some of our favorite classics of sonikcinema: Rockers, Sun Ra's Space Is The Place, Wild Style and Ghost Dog, CROOKED is at once real, surreal, light-hearted, dark, humorous, insightful, campy, edgy, but above all, a fresh perspective. We tossed the rulebook to the wind, and the outcome is as honest and personal as any Wordsound production.
CROOKED follows the trials and tribulations of Sensational, a consummate original and poster child for the underdog, but it celebrates the creative mind and independent spirit, longing for freedom.
